"am kai" translates to "Au Quai" and represents for the Caressa siblings the symbiosis of class and modernity. The location of the restaurant "am kai" has always been surrounded by a special magic. However, this place embodies much more than an ordinary fish restaurant on the Elbe River in Hamburg.

Ships, containers, port sounds: In the midst of Hamburg's unique harbor scenery, we welcome you to our restaurant 'am kai' in a special atmosphere of well-being. Cozy leather armchairs and heavy wooden tables, harmonious decor and all the decorations have been carefully selected from around the world with passion and taste - as a whole, they embody the cosmopolitanism of the best fish restaurants in Hamburg. The rooms flooded with natural daylight are accentuated by bold colors. The expansive glass fronts connected to the conservatory and terraces provide immediate Elbe River views from the restaurant onto the cranes of the Hamburg harbor.

'am kai' brings together the best of kitchens from around the world, harmoniously combining diverse flavors. In addition to our main dining area, you will find our private room: a quiet space equipped with oak parquet flooring, acoustic ceiling, projector, and screen. The retreat can accommodate approximately 45 guests and is ideal for small meetings, press events, product presentations, and workshops in a maritime ambiance. If you want to offer your guests a unique experience in our restaurant with a view of the Elbe River, then you will love the impression vis à vis Dockland. But even in a private setting, you can enjoy cosmopolitan dishes from Chef à la carte here. More than just a seafood restaurant: at 'am kai', the path to the sea is through the taste.

The centerpiece of our restaurant with a river view: a modern, eight-meter-long oak table, an illusion of shipping containers as a trompe-l'oeil, pink silk lanterns floating with elegance above the scene - the Glory Lounge is a part of the restaurant with a special style. Here, you can host:

Enjoy selected seafood menus or our Chef's Table in peace and tranquility here. Containers are not only seen as an illusion in the Glory Lounge, but also passing by in real life on the big vessels and containerships from all around the world. Our sun terrace creates the feeling of being on a ship's deck - you cannot get closer to the Elbe River. Take a seat in the front row right on the Elbe River, while enjoying the delicious seafood dishes of our seafood restaurant on the Elbe in Hamburg.
